The purpose of this study is to determine the levels of elementary and secondary school administrators' attitudes towards disciplinary issues and to examine whether they vary by various variables (gender, age, educational level, faculty of graduation, branch, seniority, courses, seminars and status of receiving training). The study was prepared in accordance with the relational screening model, one of the general screening models. In the model of the study, the relationship between the variables was examined in accordance with the general and sub-purposes. The population of the study consisted of school administrators working at public elementary and secondary schools in Istanbul province. The sample of the study consisted of 103 administrators working in a total of 12 institutions including 7 public elementary schools and 5 secondary schools located in Gaziosmanpaşa district in the 2015-2016 academic year. The "Disciplinary Approaches of Administrators at School" Scale prepared by Özcan (2008a) was used as a data collection tool. As a result of the data analysis, administrators' attitudes towards disciplinary approaches were found to be at the medium level. There is a significant difference between the attitudes towards disciplinary approaches of administrators who graduated from the faculty of education and of administrators who graduated from other faculties other than the faculty of education. It is observed that administrators who graduated from other faculties have a more positive attitude towards disciplinary approaches compared to administrators who graduated from the faculty of education. The difference between the arithmetic means of school administrators' attitudes towards disciplinary issues according to gender, age, branch, educational level, occupational seniority, courses, seminars and status of receiving training was not found to be statistically significant.

Evaluating the features of interdigital neuroma using 3-Tesla magnetic resonance imaging

Interdigital neuroma is an entrapment neurop-athy of the interdigital nerve. Previously, studies on interdigital neuroma were done with 1 Tesla Magnetic Resonance Imaging and more often 1.5 Tesla Magnetic Resonance Imaging. We used 3 Tesla Magnetic Resonance Imaging in our study and we did not encounter as much as we know about the study with 3 Tesla Magnetic Resonance Imaging in the literature. Between 2013 and 2019, the 3 Tesla Magnetic Resonance Imaging results of 39 consecutive surgically-confirmed interdigi- tal neuromas and patients' files were retrospec- tively evaluated. The soft tissue surrounding the prominent interdigital nerve "target sign" were assessed. Spearman's rho, Pearson's correlation tests, and Mann-Whitney U-tests were used. Of the 39 cases (mean transverse dimension = 4.64 mm), 35 (89.7%) were hypointense on T1-weight - ed sequencing, 34 were intermediate (87.1%) on short tau inversion recovery sequencing, and 29 (74.3%) had slightly-moderately enhanced neuro-mas on post-contrast spectral presaturation with inversion recovery sequences. A statistically sig-nificant negative relationship was found between contrast enhancement and disease duration (p = 0.020). On short tau inversion recovery or spec-tral presaturation with inversion recovery series, the intralesional nerve view "target sign" was ob-served in 23 (58.98 %) of 39 neuromas. This is the first study in the literature with 3 Tesla Magnetic Resonance Imaging that shows the visual charac-teristics of interdigital neuroma and its possible contribution to the diagnosis of the disease

The use of mobile applications is increasing every day and they offer more functionality on mobile devices. However, these devices are inferior to server computers in terms of memory and processor capacity. Furthermore, rapid depletion of mobile devices’ energy resources is still a major problem. Performance and energy shortcomings of mobile devices can be improved by using surrogate or cloud computing technologies. In this thesis, an offloading framework is proposed to improve the performance and efficiency of mobile applications. The framework seamlessly handles offloading and provides distribution transparency via the Inversion of Control mechanism. In particular, computation intensive components of an application are run on a remote server. It is possible to migrate different combinations of components to remote servers. Indeed, offloading some combinations of components are productive and others are counterproductive. Experimental results show that offloading the optimal combination of components to remote servers reduces the execution time and energy consumption of mobile devices. Hence, a call graph model is proposed to decide on the components to be offloaded. Offloading decisions are made by finding the best partitioning in the graph. The graph model has been validated by extensive experiments.Ph.D. - Doctoral Progra

The cost and effort estimation of projects depend on software size. A software product size is needed at as early a phase of the project as possible. Conventional Early Functional Size Estimation methods generate size at the early phase but result in subjectivity and unrepeatability due to manual calculation. On the other hand, automated Functional Size Measurement calculation approaches require constructs which are available in considerably late software development phases. In this study we developed an approach called e-Cosmic to calculate and automate the functional size measurement based on the business processes. Functions and input and output relationship types of each function are identified in the business process model. The size of each relationship type is determined by assigning appropriate data movements based on the COSMIC Measurement Manual. Then, relationship type size is aggregated to produce the size of each function. The size of the software product is the sum of the size of these functions. Automation of this process based on business process model is performed by developing a script in the ARIS tool concept. Three case studies were conducted to validate the proposed functional size estimation method (e-Cosmic). The size of the products in the case studies are measured manually with COSMIC FSM (Abran et al, 2007) as well as using a conventional early estimation method, called Early and Quick COSMIC FFP. We compared the results of different approaches and discussed the usability of e-Cosmic based on the findings.M.S. - Master of Scienc

Software size is the key input for cost and effort estimation models. The effort and cost estimations as well as software size is needed at as early a phase of the project as possible. Conventional Early Functional Size Estimation methods enable predicting size at early phases but frequently variation of the results are high due to manual calculations and requirements of high degree of interpretation in situations where there is a lack of structured artifacts. On the other hand, automated Functional Size Measurement calculation approaches require constructs which are available in considerably late software development phases. In this study, an approach called e-Cosmic to overcome the reliability and subjectivity problems of early size estimation models is developed. As part of the approach a mapping between functional size measurement components of COSMIC FSM Method and common business process model constructs, was developed. The proposed method ( e-Cosmic) is validated by three case studies. The result of the case studies has consistently showed less than 10% deviation with respect to the COSMIC FSM results. In addition, the automation of the estimation procedure eliminated measurer dependency and effort in conventional early functional size estimation methods
